On the Regional Radar, light showers are visible along the southern Texas coastline near Corpus Christi and moving towards San Antonio. Dallas and Oklahoma City are currently enjoying clear and dry conditions under an expansive area of high pressure. Scattered rain is extending into the lower Mississippi Delta, impacting areas near Jackson and New Orleans. Elsewhere across the Southern Plains, conditions remain calm with mostly clear skies, except for some cloud cover along the Texas-Mexico border near El Paso.
In Austin this afternoon, temperatures will hover in the mid-90s with a south-southeast wind around 9 to 11 miles per hour. Expect partly cloudy skies transitioning to mostly sunny by 6 PM. The temperature is set to slightly decrease from 94 degrees at 4 PM to 91 degrees by 8 PM.
Today’s temperatures in the Southern Plains are heating up significantly. El Paso leads the pack with a scorching high of 103 degrees, while Midland isn’t far behind at 97 degrees. Across Texas, Dallas and San Antonio are both looking at highs of 95 and 94 degrees, respectively. Further east, New Orleans will experience a warmer day at 93 degrees, whereas Jackson will feel a bit cooler at 90 degrees.
Tonight, Dallas will drop to 77 degrees. In Little Rock, expect a low of 76, and Jackson is forecasted to see temperatures down to 74. San Antonio will cool to 76, while El Paso will rest at 78 degrees.
Tomorrow in El Paso, expect a high of 101 degrees, making it a toasty day. Midland will see a high of 94 degrees, while further south, San Antonio is also reaching 94 degrees. Dallas will experience a warm day with a high of 96 degrees, and in northwestern areas, Oklahoma City will hit 93 degrees.
