The Southern Plains will see a dance of temperatures, ranging from the sizzling highs in the mid-90s to cooler evenings in the low 70s. On the Regional Radar, we see active weather systems across the Southern Plains. Thunderstorms are moving through western Missouri near Kansas City, indicating stormy conditions there. Showers are also affecting areas just south of El Paso and west of San Antonio, with some precipitation reaching northern Arkansas near Little Rock. Elsewhere, there is quiet weather over Oklahoma City and Dallas, offering a break from recent rainfall activities.
Temperatures in Austin will start the evening in the 80s, reaching 86 degrees at 9 PM and cooling slightly to 81 degrees by 1 AM. Expect mostly clear skies throughout the night. Winds will be gentle, coming from the south-southeast at 8 to 9 miles per hour.
Tonight, temperatures in the Southern Plains are expected to cool significantly. Dallas will drop to 76 degrees, while Oklahoma City will see a low of 73. In Little Rock, the forecasted low is 74 degrees, and San Antonio will remain relatively mild at 74 as well. Keep an eye on the cooler spots, particularly in Midland, where the temperature will dip to 69 degrees.
Tomorrow, the Southern Plains will see some warm temperatures, with Dallas reaching a high of 97 degrees. San Antonio is expected to hit 92 degrees, while Midland will warm up to 89 degrees. El Paso will also see a warm day, with highs around 93 degrees. Notably, many areas are experiencing above-average temperatures as a warm front moves through the region, bringing summer-like conditions. Expect New Orleans and Corpus Christi to remain a bit cooler at 89 degrees for the day.
