A calm day persists across the Southwest, with clear skies dominating much of the region. San Diego, Los Angeles, and Phoenix are basking in sunshine. A few rain showers have developed to the northeast of Salt Lake City, with scattered precipitation also visible. Ely and Cedar City expect to remain dry and clear.
Temperatures in Salt Lake City this afternoon will hover around 88 to 89 degrees. Expect mostly sunny skies with a light breeze from the west-southwest at 10 miles per hour shifting to northwest at 11 miles per hour. Perfect weather for outdoor activities with the sun shining bright.
Today in the Southwest, it’s heating up significantly, with Las Vegas leading the pack at a scorching 105 degrees. Phoenix isn’t far behind, expecting a high of 106, making it one of the hottest spots today. In California, Bakersfield will see a high of 96, while Los Angeles cools down slightly to 81 degrees. San Diego enjoys a pleasant 82 under sunny skies, and San Francisco remains cooler at 62.
Tonight, Los Angeles will cool down to 59 degrees while San Diego holds steady at a mild 61. Expect Bakersfield to drop to 69, and Fresno will see a low of 64. In Flagstaff, temperatures will dip significantly to 55 degrees, a noteworthy drop for the region. Las Vegas remains warm at 79 degrees, but prepare for a shift as colder air makes its way into the Southwest.
Tomorrow, Phoenix will sizzle at a scorching 110 degrees, marking an above-average day for the region. Las Vegas isn’t far behind, with highs reaching 106 degrees, making it another hot one in Southern Nevada. Further north, Cedar City will see a warm 90 degrees, while Flagstaff remains more temperate at 84 degrees. In California, Bakersfield will reach 99, and the coastal city of San Diego will enjoy a milder 78 degrees.
For the Southwest tomorrow, anticipate increasing cloud cover with a chance of scattered showers in Southern California, mainly affecting coastal areas and the San Bernardino Valley. Rain is expected to continue into mid-week with heavier downpours. The desert areas remain mostly dry and warm, with temperatures climbing into the upper 80s. Northern California will experience cooler temperatures with morning fog along the coast, followed by intermittent rain showers through the day.
