Clear skies dominate much of the Southwest region at 7 PM PT, with Las Vegas, Phoenix, and San Diego experiencing dry conditions. Sunny skies are over Salt Lake City and Cedar City in Utah. Scattered clouds are hovering around Ely indicating a cooler evening in the area. Southern California, including Los Angeles and San Francisco, remains dry with no precipitation in sight.
Los Angeles kicks off Tuesday with a mostly clear sky and temperatures around 60 degrees at 8 AM. As the morning progresses, expect mostly sunny conditions with a rise to 63 degrees by 10 AM. A gentle south-southwest breeze at 3 mph will maintain a calm atmosphere. By midday, temperatures will reach 70 degrees under clear, sunny skies.
Tomorrow in Phoenix, temperatures are set to soar to a scorching 113 degrees, marking an above-average day for the region. Las Vegas will also experience extreme heat with a high of 109 degrees. Moving west, Bakersfield is expected to hit 100 degrees, while Fresno follows closely behind at 98 degrees. In Los Angeles, a more moderate high of 86 degrees is anticipated, providing some relief from the intense heat. San Francisco will remain significantly cooler at 67 degrees, showcasing the diverse temperature spread across the Southwest.
A strengthening system will sweep through the Southwest tomorrow, bringing a mix of sunshine and afternoon thunderstorms particularly over Arizona and New Mexico. Northern Arizona may experience scattered showers, with a risk of flash flooding in low-lying areas. Sunday: To close out the week, mostly clear conditions remain, with a high of 73 degrees and a low of 63 degrees.
