The Southeast region is experiencing some scattered showers and thunderstorms, particularly concentrated along the Gulf Coast from Houston to New Orleans. Shreveport is seeing an intense line of storms moving through, which are traveling eastward. Savannah and Jacksonville are also dealing with pockets of heavy rain and thunderstorm activity near the coast. Conditions remain clear and calm farther north, including cities like Memphis and Charlotte, with few disturbances expected.
Miami’s afternoon temperatures start at 87 degrees around 4 PM with a southeast wind at 9 miles per hour. Thunderstorms will persist, bringing plenty of moisture and a gusty breeze. By 6 PM, temperatures drop to 84 degrees as winds shift from the south-southwest at 7 miles per hour, continuing the wet conditions. At 8 PM, the temperature further dips to 81 degrees with winds from the west-northwest at 6 miles per hour, and rain showers remain scattered.
This afternoon, the Southeast sees some notable warmth. Atlanta reaches a high of 91 degrees, while Montgomery is slightly cooler at 92. Over in Savannah and Jacksonville, temperatures are consistent with both hitting 93 degrees. New Orleans stays cooler at 89 degrees, whereas the heat intensifies in Memphis with a high of 89 as well. Tampa experiences a pleasant 91 degrees, and Miami remains the cool spot with a high of 88 degrees.
Tonight, Memphis is expected to cool down to 74 degrees. In Nashville, a low of 74 is also on the way, while Shreveport will see temperatures drop to 76. Tallahassee will experience a notably mild night at 75 degrees, and Miami rounds out the region with a low of 76.
Tomorrow, Montgomery will experience a high of 96 degrees, marking one of the hottest spots in the Southeast. Atlanta is not far behind with a high of 94 degrees, while Memphis and Nashville both reach 91 degrees. In the Gulf Coast, New Orleans is set for 89 degrees, and Houston will see slightly cooler temperatures at 89 as well.
A cold front pushes into the Southeast tomorrow, bringing embedded thunderstorms from Jackson to Montgomery. Expect heavy downpours with the possibility of localized flooding, especially in low-lying areas from Savannah to Jacksonville. As the front continues eastward, strong thunderstorms could develop in parts of northern Florida with gusty winds and potential hail. Temperatures will drop slightly after the front passes, offering a brief cool-down by the weekend. High rain chances remain for central Florida through Wednesday.
