Strong thunderstorm activity is occurring near Salt Lake City, pushing southeast towards Cedar City as the evening progresses. Ely is experiencing thunderstorms alongside the potential for isolated severe weather, with localized downpours expected. Most of the Nevada desert, including Las Vegas, remains clear under the current conditions. Flagstaff and Phoenix are also enjoying dry weather, with no rain expected.
In Salt Lake City this evening, temperatures will gradually decrease from 90 degrees at 9 PM to 81 degrees by 1 AM. Expect cloudy skies initially, with a slight clearing to partly cloudy conditions later in the night. Winds will shift from north-northeast at 9 miles per hour to southeast at 7 miles per hour as we head into the early morning.
Tonight, Phoenix will cool down to a low of 82 degrees, while Flagstaff sees a chilly 55. Las Vegas will stay warm, with temperatures dropping to 82 as well. Expect a mild night for San Diego at 64 degrees and an even cooler 57 in San Francisco.
Tomorrow, temperatures soar in the Southwest with Las Vegas hitting a scorching 104 degrees. Bakersfield is not far behind at 99 degrees, while Fresno sees highs around 98. Phoenix will experience a warm day as well with a high of 97 degrees. San Diego remains milder at 75 degrees, standing out against the predominantly high temperatures in the region.
For the Southwest forecast on Wednesday, anticipate dry and sunny conditions across much of Arizona and New Mexico. However, a few isolated thunderstorms are possible in southeastern Arizona during the late afternoon. Southern California will experience some lingering showers, leading to slick roads during morning commutes in the Los Angeles area. Northern California can expect some rain showers moving through, particularly impacting the Bay Area on and off throughout the day. Temperatures remain stable with highs in the mid-80s in the desert regions and cooler mid-70s along coastal areas.

Friday: A mild day with partly cloudy skies, peaking at 85 degrees during the day and 65 degrees overnight. Saturday: Enjoy a mix of sun and clouds, warming up to 89 degrees for the high and cooling down to 66 degrees for the low. Sunday: Mostly sunny with temperatures rising to 92 degrees and dropping to 69 degrees at night. Monday: The week wraps up with partly cloudy conditions, reaching a high of 91 degrees with a low around 67 degrees.
