The Southwest region is seeing a mix of weather conditions today. In Northern California, Redding is experiencing light rain showers moving towards Reno. Around Flagstaff, spotty showers are developing, offering some respite, while to the east of Phoenix, isolated clusters of rain are visible. Ely remains clear with no precipitation, while windy conditions are expected near the mountain ranges.
Salt Lake City’s afternoon promises a warm and sunny forecast. At 4 PM, expect temperatures around 91 degrees with a westerly wind blowing at 9 miles per hour. By 6 PM, temperatures rise slightly to 93 degrees, with winds shifting a bit more north at 10 miles per hour. Clear skies continue into the evening, maintaining 93 degrees with winds returning to 9 miles per hour from the west.
Today in the Southwest, temperatures are soaring. Las Vegas is reaching a scorching 105 degrees, while Phoenix isn’t far behind with a high of 95. Over in Los Angeles, a milder day is expected with a high of 78, contrasting with balmy weather in San Diego at 75 degrees. Fresno is just shy of the triple digits at 98, while Bakersfield hits a warm 99. San Francisco remains much cooler at 64 degrees, highlighting the temperature disparities across the region.
Tonight in the Southwest, temperatures are expected to drop significantly. Los Angeles will see a low of 63 degrees, while Bakersfield cools down to 73. Las Vegas is forecasted to hit 78 degrees, and Flagstaff will chill to 52.
Tomorrow, the Southwest is set for scorching temperatures, with Phoenix soaring to a blistering 100 degrees. Las Vegas will experience a high of 95 degrees, while Bakersfield is expected to reach 99 degrees, just shy of the century mark. Fresno will also see a warm day with highs of 98 degrees. Coastal areas like San Diego and Los Angeles will be relatively mild with highs of 74 and 78 degrees, respectively.
A clear and sunny weather pattern is expected for the Southwest, keeping the desert regions dry. However, northern California will experience several rounds of rain in the valleys Tuesday night into Wednesday. Southern California, particularly the San Bernardino Valley, should prepare for showers and some heavier rain, leading to challenging driving conditions on mountain passes.
Salt Lake City will experience a very high UV index of 9 both Wednesday and Thursday, with a swift burn time of just 15 minutes in direct sunlight.
