In the Southwest region, we’re seeing a dynamic mix of weather for this first official weekend of Spring. Salt Lake City is in the clear and Cedar City has just a bit of cloud cover at the moment. On the west coast, light rain showers are sweeping in from the Pacific Ocean, bringing some welcome moisture to areas like Redding and the northern California coast. Moving south, locations like Fresno, Bakersfield, and farther into the Central Valley are relatively dry. San Francisco is also currently experiencing clear skies. Down in the south, Los Angeles and San Diego are enjoying dry conditions. Las Vegas and Phoenix are also holding steady with dry weather.
Temperatures in Salt Lake City tomorrow morning start at 39 degrees at 7 a.m. with partly cloudy skies. By 9 a.m., it remains at 39 degrees with a southeast wind at 6 miles per hour, keeping the morning brisk. As the morning progresses to 11 a.m., expect mostly sunny conditions and a slight warm-up to 45 degrees, with a south-southeast wind at 4 miles per hour.
High temperatures for the Southwest region tomorrow reflect a warming trend: Las Vegas is set to reach a high of 83 degrees well above average for this time of year, driven by an influx of warmer air. Phoenix will be heating up to a sweltering 87 degrees. Bakersfield can expect a pleasant 75 degrees. Fresno will not be far behind at 74 degrees. Los Angeles projected to have a high of 72 degrees. San Diego temperatures will be mild with a high of 70 degrees.
The futurecast for the Southwest indicates a continuation of dry and sunny conditions across the desert regions including Salt lake City. However, for the coastal and northern parts of California, expect unsettled weather. Tomorrow, Sunday, will bring scattered showers to the northern regions of the state, particularly impacting the valleys. The San Francisco Bay Area could see increased rain intensity, potentially complicating travel with slick roadways.
Clouds will moderate the UV index in Salt Lake City on Saturday, maintaining it at a low level of 3, with no significant burn risk. However, Sunday brings a higher UV index of 5, which means you can experience sunburn after about 27 minutes in the sun.

Monday: Clear skies with a daytime high reaching 68 degrees and a cool night at 45. Tuesday: Enjoy a clear and sunny day with a high of 73 degrees and a mild low of 53. Wednesday: Partly cloudy conditions with the temperature peaking at 72 degrees and dipping to 42. Thursday: Expect showers and cooler weather, with a high of 51 degrees and a low of 37. Friday: Partly cloudy with a high of 53 degrees and a low around 35.
