A line of rain showers is approaching the southern tip of Florida, with Miami and the Keys experiencing light to moderate rainfall. Farther north, Tampa and Jacksonville are also seeing some rain activity with scattered showers tracking inland. Charlotte and Atlanta are under mostly clear skies, providing a pleasant break from wet weather. Overhead in Montgomery and Jackson, conditions remain dry with increasing cloud cover as a nearby system slowly makes its way eastward. Keep an eye on Savannah, where clouds are moving in, hinting at potential precipitation later in the day.
This afternoon in Atlanta, look for sunshine with temperatures reaching 77 degrees by mid-afternoon. Winds will be coming from the west at around 15 miles per hour, providing a bit of a breeze. As we move toward the evening, temperatures drop slightly to 72 degrees by 7 PM, with winds shifting to west-northwest at 10 miles per hour.
Here’s your weather update for today in the Southeast. Starting out west, Shreveport is basking in sunshine with a high of 89 degrees, while Houston is right behind at 87. Moving eastward, Jackson reaches a warm 83, and New Orleans isn’t far behind at 80. In Alabama, Montgomery sees a high of 81, while Atlanta is slightly cooler at 79. Savannah checks in at 75 degrees. Over in Florida, Jacksonville and Tampa both enjoy highs of 80, with Miami a bit warmer at 81.
Now for the low temperatures, the Southeast is prepping for a chilly night ahead. Memphis will dip to 43 degrees, while Nashville will see a low of 41. Montgomery won’t be much warmer at 44 degrees. Jackson is expected to settle at 55 degrees. Meanwhile, New Orleans will have a mild low of 61. Farther south, Tampa should have a comfortable start at 60 degrees, while Miami remains the warmest at 69 degrees.
High temperatures across the Southeast region tomorrow will be warm and generally above average for this time of year. In Jackson, expect a high of 79 degrees, while Montgomery will see similar warmth at 80 degrees. Over in New Orleans, temperatures rise to 82 degrees, and Houston can look forward to a balmy 82 degrees as well. Atlanta is forecasted for a high of 75, providing some mild conditions up north. Meanwhile, Miami is set to heat up with a high of 82 degrees, and Tampa will be notably warmer at 86 degrees.
