A dynamic weather system is unfolding across the Southeast region. Showers are making their way through Houston, pushing toward Lake Charles with some intensity. Shreveport is already experiencing rain, and these showers will continue to track northeast, reaching Jackson soon. While Montgomery and Atlanta remain dry, cloud cover is expected to increase ahead of the approaching rain. Coastal cities like Savannah and Jacksonville are enjoying clear skies, providing a pleasant break from any precipitation.
This evening in Atlanta, temperatures will start at 74 degrees at 9 PM, gradually dipping to 69 by 1 AM. Expect mostly cloudy skies throughout the evening. Winds will be gentle, coming from the south-southeast at 5 miles per hour, then easing slightly to 4 miles per hour by the early hours.
Tonight, the Southeast is seeing some cooler temperatures rolling in. Memphis will dip to 55 degrees, while Nashville is expected to experience a low of 55 as well. Jackson will see a low of 64 degrees, and Shreveport is forecasted to reach 63 degrees. Montgomery and Atlanta are on track for lows of 64 degrees each. It’s a little milder in New Orleans at 70 degrees, and Tampa will enjoy a low of 66 degrees.
Tomorrow’s temperatures in the Southeast are looking quite warm, with highs trending above average. Atlanta is expected to reach 84 degrees, while temperatures in Montgomery soar to 86. Over in Jacksonville, highs will hit 88 degrees, making it one of the warmest spots. Miami is not far behind at 81 degrees, and Tampa could see a sizzling 90 degrees.
A line of strong thunderstorms is poised to move southeast from Shreveport to Jackson by early Monday morning, bringing the potential for severe weather, including strong winds and isolated tornadoes. By midday Monday, this storm front will extend from New Orleans to Montgomery, prompting a need to stay alert for flash flooding due to heavy downpours. Atlanta will start the week with increasing clouds ahead of the storms on Monday evening, with temperatures slightly cooler post-front. Rainfall could be heavy at times, leading to possible localized flooding before drier conditions settle in by Tuesday.
The UV index in Atlanta is set to be very high at 9 for both Sunday and Monday, with a burn time of just 15 minutes.

Thursday: Thunderstorms expected early in the day, keeping the temperatures at a high of 81 degrees and a low of 62. Friday: Enjoy partly cloudy conditions with a daytime high of 84 degrees, the evening will see temperatures drop to 63. Saturday: Partly cloudy skies will bring temperatures up to 84 degrees again, with a mild low of 62.
