Over the next seven days, Phoenix skies will be predominantly clear with temperatures ranging from highs of 89°F to a peak of 93°F. Evening lows will dip to the upper 50s to mid-60s, making for pleasant nights. Keep an eye on the UV index, which remains very high. The Southwest region is experiencing varied weather conditions with rain moving in from the Pacific Coast. Currently, the radar shows showers affecting areas from Redding down to Fresno, providing some relief in the central California valleys. Snowfall is noticeable in the higher elevations near Ely, as well as light precipitation around Cedar City and Salt Lake City. San Francisco and Los Angeles are remaining dry at the moment, providing clearer conditions for those areas. Flagstaff and Phoenix are dry.
This afternoon in Phoenix, temperatures climb from 87 degrees at 3 PM to a warm 90 degrees by 7 PM. Sunny skies dominate with the wind shifting from southwest to west, blowing at 5 to 8 miles per hour throughout the afternoon.
This afternoon, the Southwest is warming up nicely. Phoenix is leading the pack with a high of 91 degrees, while Las Vegas isn’t far behind at 87 degrees. Notably, Bakersfield is experiencing a warm high of 85 degrees, contrasting with cooler temperatures in San Francisco, where the high is just 59. Meanwhile, Flagstaff stays mild at 65 degrees, providing a nice relief from the heat.
Las Vegas will see a low of 62 degrees, while Flagstaff plunges to a brisk 35. Expect 51 in Bakersfield and a chilly 45 in Cedar City. San Diego will remain mild at 53 degrees, but across the region, many areas will feel the effects of the cooler air settling in. Cities like Fresno and San Francisco will see lows of 50 degrees.
High temperatures in the Southwest for tomorrow are unseasonably warm across the board. Phoenix can expect a high of 91 degrees, while Las Vegas heats up to 87 degrees. Further west, Bakersfield will reach 80 degrees, and Fresno sees a comfortable 76 degrees. In coastal areas, San Diego will be slightly cooler at 66 degrees, and Los Angeles will hit 67 degrees.
A dry and warm pattern dominates the Southwest for tomorrow, with temperatures rising to the high 80s to low 90s in most areas. However, plan for a change along the coast as a weather system brings clouds and rain, particularly impacting Northern California. Expect increased precipitation in San Bernardino, leading to possible slippery roads. Mountain areas may experience cooler conditions with rain showers enhancing driving hazards.
The UV index in Phoenix will be very high at 9 on both Wednesday and Thursday, with a burn time of just 15 minutes in direct sunlight.
