A line of strong storms is progressively traveling eastward across parts of the Southern Plains. Oklahoma City is clear, but Dallas should expect rain as scattered showers are moving through. Little Rock is experiencing severe weather activity with some strong storms. Rain persists around Jackson and is making its way toward the northern portions of Louisiana. The southern areas, including Corpus Christi and New Orleans, enjoy dry conditions for now.
Afternoon temperatures in Austin peak at 86 degrees with southeast winds around 5 to 7 miles per hour. Expect scattered thunderstorms early, bringing chances of brief heavy rain and lightning. By 5 PM, temperatures slightly decrease to 84 degrees as storms continue, then tapering to partly cloudy skies at 81 degrees by 7 PM.
El Paso leads the way with a high of 89 degrees, while Midland is close behind at 85. San Antonio and Dallas both see highs of 85 degrees, making for a comfortable day in those areas. Meanwhile, Jackson is slightly cooler with a high of 78 degrees, providing a pleasant contrast. New Orleans enjoys a sunny high of 83, while Corpus Christi matches that temperature.
Tonight Amarillo dropping to a chilly 40 degrees. Lubbock isn’t far behind, waking up to a low of 42. Dallas will see a mild low of 50, while Oklahoma City cools down to 49. Further south, San Antonio remains warmer at 58 degrees, but they’ll notice a cooler trend by the morning.
High temperatures for the Southern Plains tomorrow will be notably warm, with El Paso reaching 90 degrees, marking above-average temperatures for this time of year. Midland sees a pleasant high of 78 degrees, while San Antonio expects to hit 87 degrees, reflecting a trend of warmer conditions in the region. Dallas will have a high of 83 degrees, bringing comfortable warmth to the metro area. Corpus Christi isn’t far behind, with a forecasted high of 84 degrees.
