A robust storm system is vividly evident over Kansas City, characterized by intense thunderstorms moving southeast towards Oklahoma City. Oklahoma City itself is seeing some milder storm activity, with showers extending towards Little Rock. In Midland and farther south to San Antonio, skies are clear, offering a break from the precipitation impacting more northern areas. Rain showers are visible advancing towards the Dallas region, with some pockets heavier than others as they move eastward. El Paso and Corpus Christi remain dry, enjoying a pleasant day.
Expect the afternoon in Austin to be mostly cloudy with a high reaching 88 degrees. Winds will be coming from the south-southeast at 12 miles per hour, providing a gentle breeze. As the evening approaches, temperatures will slightly decrease to 83 degrees with cloud cover persisting.
Today’s high temperatures in the Southern Plains show a warm trend across the region. San Antonio is expecting a high of 89 degrees, making it one of the warmest spots today. Midland will reach a high of 86 degrees, while El Paso is looking at a comfortable 83 degrees. Dallas and Little Rock are projected to see highs around 83 degrees. In contrast, Oklahoma City experiences a cooler day with a high of just 72 degrees.
Oklahoma City will see a low of 58 degrees, while Dallas is forecasted to drop to 63. In contrast, Midland is set for a chilly low of 54 degrees. San Antonio will experience milder conditions with a low of 70. Colder air affects Little Rock, where temperatures are expected to cool down to 62 degrees.
High temperatures for the Southern Plains tomorrow will generally trend above average for this time of year. El Paso will reach 81 degrees, while Midland is expected to hit 82. San Antonio may see a warm 90 degrees, and Corpus Christi will warm up to 86. Dallas is forecasted for a high of 72, which is slightly below what we typically see. Expect Little Rock to hit 82 degrees and New Orleans to have a high of 85, both well into the comfortable warmth of the season.
