This detailed coverage includes temperature swings in Salt Lake City, heavy snowfall in the Sierra Nevada, and much more. Keep your umbrellas close and your sunglasses handy, and dive into a detailed 7-day forecast! On the Regional Radar, a sweeping band of rain is moving across Southern California, impacting areas from Los Angeles to San Diego, bringing much-needed moisture. Snowfall is more prevalent in the Sierra Nevada, especially north of Fresno, with higher elevations around Reno experiencing ongoing showers! Ely has cold showers persisting. Las Vegas and Phoenix remain clear and dry. The Salt Lake City area has showers developing with rain threats all day.
Salt Lake City this afternoon sees temperatures holding steady around 52 degrees, with a north-northwest wind of 14 mph bringing a breezy feel. Expect rain to continue, transitioning to lighter showers by 6 PM as temperatures slightly dip to 51 degrees. By 8 PM, a few showers linger with the wind easing to 9 mph, maintaining a cool 52 degrees. Keep those umbrellas handy for the commute home!
Check out the regional high temperatures today in the Southwest. Phoenix is heating up with a high of 90 degrees, while Las Vegas isn’t far behind, reaching 79. In contrast, Los Angeles will only see a high of 66 degrees, making it noticeably cooler compared to other cities in the region. San Diego is a bit warmer at 64 degrees, and if you head north to Bakersfield, expect a high of 73. Flagstaff remains quite mild for the area with a high of 62 degrees.
Tonight in the Southwest, temperatures will drop significantly, with Ely hitting a low of 29 degrees. Flagstaff will also experience a chilly night at 29 degrees. Las Vegas is expected to cool down to 60, while Phoenix will be slightly warmer at 63 degrees. Bakersfield will see a low of 56 and Los Angeles will rest at 53.
High temperatures across the Southwest are expected to be well above average for tomorrow. Phoenix will soar to a sizzling 86 degrees, while Las Vegas reaches a warm 81 degrees. In California, Bakersfield and Fresno also anticipate highs of 81 degrees, with Los Angeles slightly cooler at 69. San Diego will enjoy mild temperatures at 70 degrees. San Francisco remains on the cooler side at 66 degrees, influenced by coastal breezes.
Anticipate a dynamic weather pattern in the Southwest tomorrow. A cold front will usher in cooler temperatures by evening, mainly across Arizona and New Mexico. Expect scattered showers and potential thunderstorms to develop, particularly in northern Arizona. The Sierra Nevada could see some snowfall, affecting higher elevation travel routes with slick conditions. Toward the California coast, a more stable and clear pattern prevails, offering sunny skies.
