Scattered thunderstorms is expected for the Northeast with severe thunderstorms visible northwest of Buffalo. Rain is moving across Pennsylvania towards Scranton, contributing to wet conditions. In the Hudson Valley, Albany is experiencing light showers, and rain is approaching the New York City area. Showers are moving towards Connecticut, and a pocket of rain is moving offshore near Portland. Washington, D.C., is seeing intermittent rain, with this system advancing northeast.
For the evening in New York City, temperatures will start at 75 degrees around 9 PM and gradually decrease to 68 degrees by 1 AM. Winds will shift from west-northwest at 6 mph to northwest at 4 mph as the night progresses. The skies transition from partly cloudy at 9 PM to mostly clear by 11 PM, ending with clear conditions. Expect a pleasant evening with cooler temperatures overnight.
Tonight in the Northeast, expect chilly temperatures as a cold air mass settles in. Buffalo will dip down to 45 degrees, while Syracuse sees a low of 44. Scranton could cool to 49, and Philadelphia is forecasted for 57. Boston will experience a low of 54, slightly cooler than earlier in the week. Albany is forecasted for a low of 48 degrees.
