Heavy rain and thunderstorms are impacting the Carolinas, with Charlotte seeing intense weather activity right now. Atlanta and Savannah are facing light rain showers with increasing clouds. A small system is delivering light rain to the Gulf Coast around New Orleans. Meanwhile, cloudy skies loom over Jacksonville and extending down toward Tampa, with no rain as of now. Shreveport remains clear, with fair weather conditions stretching westward toward Houston.
For this evening in Miami, temperatures remain steady at 83 degrees from 9 PM through 1 AM. Winds will come from the east-southeast at 8 miles per hour. Cloud cover will transition from mostly cloudy to partly cloudy as the night progresses.
Tonight in the Southeast, cooling temperatures signal a noticeable drop. Expect a low of 66 degrees in Memphis and 67 in Nashville. Jackson will see a low of 71, while Montgomery registers 70 degrees. Savannah will cool down to 72, and Tampa remains mild at 75. Miami will stay warm, rounding out the night at 80 degrees.
High temperatures in the Southeast for tomorrow are expected to soar, with several cities seeing readings well above average. Atlanta will warm up to 79 degrees, while Montgomery reaches a balmy 87 degrees. New Orleans and Houston are both poised for highs of 89 degrees, highlighting the ongoing warmth in the region. Jacksonville and Tampa are forecasted to be particularly warm at 92 and 93 degrees, respectively. This upward trend is influenced by a persistent high-pressure system bringing sunny skies and seasonal warmth across the Southeast.
A series of storms will sweep through the Southeast tomorrow, starting with morning rain and potential thunderstorms from Houston to New Orleans. By afternoon, the storm system will push eastward, affecting areas from Jackson to Birmingham and extending into Atlanta by the evening. Severe weather, including strong winds and large hail, is possible, especially in Mississippi and Alabama. A noticeable drop in temperatures follows the front, bringing cooler air into the region by late Wednesday. Keep an eye on the weather as thunderstorms continue through Jacksonville and Savannah into Wednesday night.
The UV index in Miami is extremely high at 11 today, with a burn time of just 11 minutes in direct sunlight. This level poses a very high risk of harm from unprotected sun exposure. Ensure to wear broad-spectrum sunscreen, hats, and sunglasses if you’ll be outdoors. Stay aware and seek shade during peak sun hours to protect yourself from dangerous UV exposure.
