The Southeast region is experiencing varied weather conditions today. On the radar, a robust line of thunderstorms is affecting areas north of Atlanta, with strong cells moving towards Charlotte. Coastal cities like Savannah are witnessing scattered rain showers moving inland. New Orleans and Jacksonville are seeing only light, sporadic rain. Houston and Miami are currently under dry conditions.
Temperatures in Miami tomorrow morning start at 83 degrees by 8 AM and gradually rise to 87 degrees by noon. Expect partly cloudy skies throughout the morning, allowing for some sun to peek through. Winds will be mild, coming from the southeast at 9 to 12 miles per hour as the morning progresses.
By tomorrow afternoon, Atlanta will see a high of 79 degrees, while Montgomery reaches 87 degrees. In Jacksonville, temperatures will soar to 92 degrees, and Tampa could even hit 93 degrees. New Orleans is forecasting a warm high of 89 degrees, alongside Houston also expecting a notable 89.
A cold front is advancing across the Southeast, expected to bring thunderstorms from Shreveport to Montgomery by tomorrow morning. Heavy rain and strong, gusty winds are possible as the system pushes eastward, with the risk of localized flooding in low-lying areas. Areas from Jackson to Georgia should brace for potential severe weather, including isolated tornadoes, particularly in the late afternoon. Temperatures ahead of the front will remain warm, but a noticeable drop is on the horizon post-passage, bringing relief from the current humidity levels. Watch for improving conditions toward the weekend as skies clear behind the front.
The UV index in Miami will peak at a very high level of 11 today and on Monday, signaling extreme sun exposure risk. With direct sunlight, the burn time is as short as 11 minutes.
