While Atlanta welcomes partly sunny skies today, areas like Jacksonville and New Orleans brace for showers and storms. Tonight’s conditions across the region will bring cooler temperatures, setting the stage for a varied and potentially stormy forecast tomorrow. In the Southeast region, the radar indicates scattered showers moving through the Florida Panhandle, specifically impacting areas around Jacksonville with rain. A band of storms is hovering over southeastern Alabama extending into Georgia, bringing rain towards Atlanta and Montgomery. The Gulf Coast around New Orleans sees some unsettled conditions with rain showers moving through the region. Houston is under increasing cloud cover as showers approach from the west. Clear skies prevail in Miami, creating a pleasant start to the day in southern Florida.
Afternoon temperatures in Atlanta are climbing to 80 degrees by 6 PM, with a consistent west-southwest wind ranging from 6 to 7 miles per hour. Expect mostly cloudy skies, especially towards the late afternoon, with some breaks in cloud cover. By 8 PM, temperatures gently dip to 78 degrees with partly cloudy conditions.
Today’s regional high temperatures in the Southeast are quite impressive. In New Orleans, expect a high of 85 degrees, while Jackson warms up to 83. Montgomery will see a high of 87 degrees, making it one of the warmer spots today. Jacksonville edges up to 92 degrees, and Tampa is also feeling the heat with a matching high of 92. Meanwhile, Atlanta is cooler at 81 degrees, and Charlotte is feeling a bit more comfortable at 76.
Tonight Memphis is forecasted to cool down to 63 degrees, while Nashville will experience a low of 65. Shreveport will see temperatures drop to 69, and Jackson will register a similar low of 69 as well. Montgomery will also cool down to 68 degrees. Atlanta will settle at 65, providing a crisp night across the region.
Tomorrow Atlanta will see a high of 76 degrees, while Nashville reaches 83. In Florida, Tampa is forecasted to hit a warm 93 degrees, with Jacksonville closely following at 90. New Orleans and Jackson will both enjoy highs of 84 degrees. Shreveport will also be warm at 88 degrees, making it a sultry day across the region.
A cold front is sweeping across the Southeast from Louisiana through Georgia, bringing scattered thunderstorms and heavy rain, particularly affecting areas from New Orleans to Tallahassee by tomorrow afternoon. Expect potential for isolated severe weather conditions, including gusty winds and localized flooding, especially near coastal regions. Temperatures across the region will see a drop after the front passes, providing cooler conditions into Thursday. Keep an eye out for transitions in wind patterns as the front moves eastward, impacting evening commutes through Montgomery and Savannah.
