Heavy rain and thunderstorms are marching through central Texas, extending from San Antonio northeast towards Dallas. A scattered line of severe storms is moving across parts of Arkansas, impacting areas near Little Rock. El Paso remains dry under clear skies, while clouds are increasing eastward towards Albuquerque. Coastal areas including Corpus Christi are also dealing with intermittent showers as the line of storms trails southward. Northern Louisiana around Shreveport shows moderate cloud cover building with approaching rain.
Temperatures in Austin this afternoon rise to 84 degrees by 6 PM with a light north-northeast wind at 6 miles per hour. The sky remains predominantly cloudy, providing some shade during the heat of the day. By 8 PM, temperatures slightly decrease to 81 degrees, with skies becoming mostly cloudy.
Today El Paso will see a high of 92 degrees, while Midland remains slightly cooler at 79. Over in Dallas, expect a warm 82 degrees, contrasting with San Antonio’s steamy high of 88. In Louisiana, New Orleans will reach 86 degrees, while Jackson is on the lower end with only 79. Corpus Christi is poised for a high of 90, reflecting the warm conditions across the region.
Tonight Dallas will cool down to 69 degrees, while Fort Worth sees a low of 66. To the north, Oklahoma City will drop to 64, and Little Rock will be slightly cooler at 61. Jackson is set for a low of 61 as well, while San Antonio remains warmer at 73.
High temperatures for the Southern Plains will be notably warm tomorrow, with many areas seeing above-average readings. El Paso is expected to reach a hot 93 degrees, while Midland will see a high of 92. San Antonio is forecasted to hit 91 degrees, and Corpus Christi will be slightly cooler at 88.
