On the regional radar, a cluster of precipitation is moving northeast, impacting areas from San Diego to Phoenix. The coastal locations of southern California, like Los Angeles and San Diego, are experiencing rain showers. Bakersfield to Las Vegas remains mostly dry as the precipitation skirts to the south. Ely and Salt Lake City enjoy clear skies for the time being, marking a sharp contrast with the more active weather farther south.
This evening in Los Angeles, temperatures will ease from 73 degrees at 9 PM to 63 degrees by 1 AM. Skies will remain partly cloudy, creating a pleasant night atmosphere. Winds will be gentle, ranging from 8 miles per hour initially to 4 miles per hour by early morning.
Tonight Las Vegas will see a low of 76 degrees, while Phoenix also stays warm at 76. Flagstaff is much cooler at 48 degrees, and Ely drops to a chilly 39. Bakersfield will experience a low of 64, with San Diego at 60.
Tomorrow Redding leads the pack with an expected high of 102 degrees, while Fresno and Bakersfield will both reach 93 and 95 degrees, respectively. In contrast, coastal areas like San Diego and Los Angeles will remain cooler, with highs around 72 degrees.
The Southwest is experiencing a developing weather pattern with increased rainfall potential. By Monday afternoon, scattered thunderstorms are likely from Phoenix to Tucson, bringing localized heavy downpours and possible flash flooding. Expect cooler temperatures in the wake of these storms, with daytime highs dropping into the mid-70s.
