The Southern Plains are experiencing varied weather conditions today. Rain showers are peppering the Houston area, suggesting commuters might need their umbrellas. Farther north, Oklahoma City is seeing the fringes of these storms, with light rain expected. Kansas City remains under clear skies, providing a brief respite from the weather.

The cold front’s arrival will trigger thunderstorm activity across New Mexico into Texas.
