A robust system is moving across the Northeast region bringing moderate to heavy rain from Scranton to Albany, with intense rainfall centered around Syracuse. Thunderstorms are developing near Pittsburgh, edging towards the northeast. Cloud cover is predominant over New York City, and light showers are expected to extend towards Boston. Washington D.C. is experiencing scattered showers, although they’re less intense compared to the northern areas.
Afternoon in New York City will see temperatures gradually dropping from 74 degrees at 4 PM to 72 degrees by 8 PM. Scattered thunderstorms are expected early, transitioning to rain by 6 PM, with conditions improving to mostly cloudy later. Winds are calm throughout the afternoon, with a slight north breeze developing by the evening. Keep an umbrella handy as this wet pattern persists.
Today’s high temperatures in the Northeast are a mixed bag. Pittsburgh leads the pack with a warm 80 degrees, while Washington D.C. isn’t far behind at 81 degrees.
