San Francisco also remains dry and clear, with some cloud cover approaching the coast.
Los Angeles temperatures this afternoon rise to a comfortable 75 degrees by 4 PM, peaking at 77 degrees around 6 PM. A gentle breeze from the south-southwest at 6 to 7 miles per hour adds a refreshing touch. Skies remain sunny and clear, making it a perfect afternoon for outdoor activities.
Today’s high temperatures in the Southwest are soaring! Las Vegas will hit a scorching 109 degrees, while Phoenix is just behind at 107. In California, Bakersfield is also feeling the heat with a high of 103, while Fresno warms up to 101. Interestingly, San Diego will stay cooler at 73 degrees, thanks to coastal influence. Flagstaff rounds out the region with a pleasant 81 degrees.
Tonight, Los Angeles will cool to 61 degrees, while San Diego also experiences a low of 60 degrees. Expect fresher air in Bakersfield with a low of 68. In the higher elevations, Flagstaff will drop to 51 degrees, and Ely is expected to see a chilly 45.
Tomorrow in the Southwest, high temperatures are soaring with Las Vegas hitting a scorching 107 degrees. Phoenix is in the same ballpark, also reaching 107, while Bakersfield will be warm at 100 degrees. Fresno isn’t far behind at 98 degrees, and San Diego will stay milder at 72 degrees. Many of these readings are well above average for this time of year, influenced by a strong ridge of high pressure hovering over the area.
As a high-pressure system dominates the Southwest, expect clear skies and abundant sunshine across Arizona and New Mexico tomorrow, with temperatures ranging from the mid-80s to low 90s. However, coastal regions of Southern California should brace for morning fog and cooler temperatures, peaking in the low 70s. The Pacific Northwest will see a weak frontal system move through, bringing light rain showers to Northern California, especially in areas surrounding the Bay Area. This system is minimal and unlikely to cause any severe weather but may lead to slippery roads during morning commutes. By evening, skies clear in the Central Valley, setting the stage for a sunny and warm day ahead.
The UV index in Los Angeles is extreme today, reaching a value of 10, with sunburn possible in just 12 minutes! On Wednesday, the UV index remains at 10, maintaining the brief burn time of 12 minutes.
