The Southwest region is currently mostly clear with a few exceptions. In the northeastern corner near Salt Lake City, there is a patch of snow spreading across the area, signaling winter-like conditions. Ely and Cedar City are witnessing some wintry mix, making road conditions potentially tricky near these cities. San Francisco, meanwhile, is seeing some rain showers rolling in from the Pacific, providing a refreshing break. The remainder of the Southwest, including cities like Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and San Diego, enjoys clear skies without any significant weather disturbances.
For this evening in Los Angeles, anticipate temperatures at 79 degrees by 9 PM, accompanied by a light south-southwest breeze at 7 mph. As the night progresses, expect clear skies with temperatures dipping to 71 degrees by 11 PM and further to 67 degrees by 1 AM. Winds will shift to the south at 4 mph, then to the south-southeast at 3 mph.
Tonight wxpect Flagstaff to cool down to 43 degrees, while Ely will see a 40 degrees. Las Vegas is looking at a mild night with a low of 72, but nearby, Cedar City hits 55. Los Angeles will be relatively cool at 58, and San Diego matches that at 58 as well.
Tomorrow Phoenix is set to hit a scorching 106 degrees, while Las Vegas will reach 101 degrees. Bakersfield and Fresno will also experience warm spell highs of 94 and 93 degrees respectively. San Diego and Los Angeles will bring more moderate temperatures at 77 and 81 degrees.
A frontal boundary in the Southwest is set to bring active weather starting Thursday morning. Northern Arizona and southern Utah will experience scattered thunderstorms, possibly strong, while Las Vegas sees gusty winds with potential thunderstorms. Moderate to heavy rainfall is expected in northern New Mexico, with local flooding possible. Southern California remains mainly dry, though a few showers could pop up in the inland areas. By Friday, the region starts to dry out, but cooler temperatures linger.
