The Southeast region is experiencing mostly clear and mild conditions right now. However, rain showers can be observed developing just off the coast near Jacksonville, advancing towards the shorelines of Northern Florida. Likewise, isolated areas of precipitation are popping up near Tampa and Miami. The rest of the Southeast, including cities like Charlotte and New Orleans, is basking in relatively calm and dry weather for the afternoon.
For tomorrow morning in Atlanta, expect temperatures starting at 62 degrees by 7 AM, rising to 66 degrees at 9 AM, and reaching 71 degrees by 11 AM. The wind will shift to the southeast, increasing from 8 to 11 miles per hour.
Tomorrow’s high temperatures in the Southeast are shaping up to be quite warm. Montgomery will see a significant spike, reaching a warm 90 degrees. Jackson, Mississippi, is projected to hit 86 degrees, also above seasonal norms. New Orleans will climb to 84 degrees, while down in Miami, temperatures will reach a pleasant 83 degrees. In contrast, Charlotte will experience milder conditions with a high of just 72 degrees.
A cold front is currently advancing over the Southeast and is expected to arrive in Atlanta by the early hours of Wednesday morning. Thunderstorms, some potentially severe, pose a risk from New Orleans to Jackson and are projected to continue their progress eastward throughout the day. Be prepared for possibly severe weather, including heavy rain and strong winds, as the system moves into Montgomery and surrounding areas. Rainfall amounts could lead to localized flooding, particularly where showers are more concentrated. The heavier rainfall expected could provide some relief from dry conditions, though it may cause brief disruptions. As the front sweeps through, temperatures will drop behind it, leading to cooler conditions by Thursday. Stay vigilant for updates from the N-W-S regarding any severe weather warnings over the next 48 hours.
The UV index in Atlanta will be high on Tuesday with a value of 8, meaning a burn time of just 17 minutes in direct sunlight. Wednesday’s UV index lowers to 5, providing a burn time of around 27 minutes.
For the 7 Day Outlook in Atlanta: Wednesday: Mostly cloudy skies with a high of 84 degrees and a low of 66.
