The region braces for a Northeast-moving front, potentially sparking thunderstorms and heavy rain. On the regional radar, widespread rain is sweeping across the Southeast, with a notable band of precipitation stretching from East Texas through Mississippi and into parts of Alabama. Shreveport is receiving consistent rain, while showers are gradually extending eastward toward Jackson. In Houston, pockets of heavier rain are likely affecting local conditions. As we look closer to the Gulf Coast, New Orleans is under a mix of rain, creating a damp start to the day. The rain appears to be shifting northeast, approaching Memphis, which should brace for showers later.
