On the Regional Radar, we’re seeing some dynamic weather shifts across the Southeast. A line of storms is prominently tracking through the region, with intense activity centered around New Orleans and Jackson, where heavy rain and potential thunderstorms are making their presence felt. This line of storms is stretching eastward through Montgomery and will bring wet conditions to Atlanta soon.
Areas farther southeast such as Jacksonville and Tampa are relatively calm, while a broad swath of rain extends from the Gulf of Mexico up through the Southeast. Over in Shreveport, the weather remains less active this morning. However, residents in Charlotte should prepare for the incoming showers, as the cloudy conditions over the Carolinas are a harbinger of the rain moving in from Alabama.
This afternoon in Atlanta, temperatures will remain consistent at 66 degrees around 3 PM, shifting slightly to 66 degrees at 5 PM with winds coming from the west-northwest at 10 miles per hour.
