A line of showers is moving southeast from Memphis toward Birmingham, indicating unsettled conditions over northern Alabama. In Mississippi, Jackson is also experiencing rain as this weather system progresses. Showers have already reached the vicinity of Montgomery, Alabama, and are expected to continue eastward. Cities like Charlotte and Savannah are currently enjoying clear skies, but clouds are gradually increasing as the system approaches. Coastal areas, including Miami, remain dry and under partly cloudy skies.
This afternoon in Atlanta brings partly cloudy skies with warm temperatures peaking at 87 degrees. A west-southwest wind flows at 10 to 11 miles per hour, offering a gentle breeze. As the sun begins to set, temperatures remain pleasantly warm, settling at 83 degrees by 8 PM.
Today’s regional high temperatures in the Southeast are warming up nicely. In Savannah, we’re seeing a hot day with a high of 95 degrees, while Jacksonville is even warmer at a sweltering 97 degrees. Over in Atlanta, a high of 88 degrees brings a bit of relief, but that’s still above average for this time of year. Montgomery will reach 92 degrees, and New Orleans is also toasty at 89 degrees. Moving west, Jackson will see a high of 89, with Shreveport slightly cooler at 91. Expect the humidity to play a significant role in making it feel even warmer across the region today.
Tonight Memphis will dip to 69 degrees, while Nashville cools to a comfortable 64. Atlanta is expected to see temperatures around 68 degrees, with Montgomery resting at 71. In the Gulf, New Orleans will settle at 75 degrees, while Shreveport stands a bit cooler at 73.
High temperatures across the Southeast are soaring above average tomorrow, reflecting a warm front influencing the region. Jacksonville will experience a blistering high of 97 degrees, while Savannah isn’t far behind at 93 degrees. In Alabama, Montgomery and Jackson are both expected to reach 88 degrees. New Orleans will warm up to 89 degrees, and Houston is set for a steamy high of 93 degrees. Atlanta rounds out the weekend with a comfortable high of 86 degrees, making the Southeast a hot spot for summer-like weather.
