We’ll start with clear skies and optimal conditions for outdoor activities, transitioning into a more vigilant stance as severe weather approaches, highlighted by potential thunderstorms and cooler temperatures ahead. The Southeast region is mostly dry at the moment, but there are some weather activities to keep an eye on. In area around the Kentucky and Tennessee borders, you can spot a band of mixed precipitation moving through. Meanwhile, Atlanta, Charlotte, and Montgomery, as well as Houston, Shreveport, and New Orleans, are experiencing clear conditions. It’s a nice opportunity for outdoor activities there today. And for areas like Miami, Tampa, and crosswise toward Jacksonville, skies are mostly clear, allowing for some sun in your outdoor plans.
“During the afternoon in Atlanta, temperatures are steady at 76 degrees with a breeze from the south-southwest at around 13 miles per hour. Clear skies and sunshine dominate, ensuring a bright and warm afternoon. As the wind calms slightly to 12 miles per hour by 5 PM, the sun continues to shine.”
Let’s dive into those high temperatures for today across the Southeast.
In the northern parts, Memphis is feeling a bit cooler with a high of 71 degrees, while Nashville manages to reach a comfortable 73.
Moving southward, Jackson hits a warm 79 degrees, and Montgomery sees plenty of sunshine with a high of 82. New Orleans is slightly cooler at 78 degrees, following the mild trend.
Over in Florida, Jacksonville shares a warm 79 degrees, while Tampa takes it up a notch with a high of 81. Miami, under an onshore flow, settles at 77, providing a pleasant, mild afternoon.
Now for the low temperatures, the Southeast will experience a significant chill tonight. Expect temperatures to drop to 33 degrees in Memphis, with Nashville checking in at a cool 37 degrees. Atlanta is forecasted to see a low of 45 degrees. In Montgomery, temperatures will dip to 47. Over in Jackson, we’ll see a low of 52 degrees. Further south, New Orleans will stay warmer at 61 degrees, while Shreveport settles at 53. Expect a mild night for Tampa with a low of 65 degrees, and Miami remains warm at 70 degrees.
High temperatures across the Southeast tomorrow are looking warm, with many locations experiencing above-average readings.
In Houston, expect a high of 84 degrees, making for a notably toasty day. Shreveport reaches 81 degrees, while Jackson warms up to 75 degrees. New Orleans is set for a comfortable 74 degrees, and Montgomery will see a high of 72 degrees.
Farther east, Atlanta is aiming for 68 degrees, and Jacksonville is slightly warmer at 79 degrees. Tampa will also feel pleasant with a high of 81 degrees, while Miami could hit 82 degrees.

Expect a line of thunderstorms with potential for heavy rain and isolated tornadoes, particularly around Jackson and Montgomery. As these storms progress, showers extend from Miami up to Charlotte.
