On the Regional Radar, strong storms are prominently impacting areas from Jackson towards Shreveport, prompting attention for those regions. Scattered rain showers can be seen extending from Southern Mississippi, through Montgomery, Alabama, and north towards Memphis, Tennessee. Further east, Atlanta is under the influence of widespread cloud cover and light rain as precipitation approaches. Meanwhile, coastal cities like Savannah, Jacksonville, and Miami enjoy much clearer and drier conditions, perfect for outdoor activities.
Warm 77 degrees this afternoon in Atlanta with scattered thunderstorms developing by 7 PM. Winds remain steady from the south-southwest at 8 miles per hour initially, easing to 5 miles per hour later.
In the Southeast today, high temperatures are warming up nicely. Shreveport sees a high of 86 degrees, while Houston follows closely with a comfortable 84. Jackson’s high comes in at 78 degrees, and Montgomery hits 86 as well. Over in Atlanta, the temperature is slightly cooler at 78 degrees. Meanwhile, down in Florida, Jacksonville reaches 85 degrees, and Tampa is sizzling with a high of 92 degrees. Miami remains warm with a high of 82 degrees, reflecting the region’s typical spring warmth.
Expect temperatures to drop to 67 degrees in Jacksonville and Tampa. Montgomery will cool down to 64 degrees, while Jackson sees a low of 66 degrees. Memphis will register a notable chill at 61 degrees, and Nashville will be even cooler at 54. Farther south, New Orleans stays warmer at 69 degrees, but Miami finishes the night at a comfortable 72.
Tomorrow, the Southeast will experience warm temperatures well above average for this time of year. Atlanta is expected to reach a high of 83 degrees, with Montgomery close behind at 87. Jacksonville will be one of the warmest cities, climbing to 89 degrees, while New Orleans and Shreveport will both see highs of 85 degrees. Memphis is also in the mix with a high of 81 degrees.
A cold front is sweeping through the Southeast with widespread showers and storms from Houston through Atlanta by tomorrow morning. Expect the heaviest rain and potential for strong thunderstorms in areas like Jackson, New Orleans, and Montgomery.
