A line of severe storms is sweeping across the south, particularly impacting Montgomery, with heavy rain and thunder being prevalent. Showers stretch from New Orleans moving eastward across Alabama into Georgia, bringing rain to areas around Atlanta. Meanwhile, those in Savannah are getting a relief with less rain as the system shifts eastward. Farther west, New Orleans is experiencing a brief respite between heavier bands of rain.
