The Southeast is seeing a mix of weather activities today. On the radar, a line of showers is moving through Louisiana, targeting areas around New Orleans and progressing towards Jackson. Shreveport is experiencing more intense rainfall, with storms intensifying as they push eastward. Meanwhile, Houston is facing spotty showers, which are expected to persist in the afternoon. Toward the northern part of the region, cloud cover is increasing around Memphis but remains dry at present. The skies over Mississippi and Alabama into Montgomery are under a mix of clouds and clear skies, with no significant precipitation at this time. Farther to the east, Savannah and Charleston are currently dry, providing a break from the rain. Florida cities like Jacksonville and Tampa enjoy sunny spells, with clearer conditions extending into Miami.
Tomorrow morning in Atlanta, clear skies dominate the scene with abundant sunshine. Temperatures begin at 45 degrees by 7 AM, rising to a pleasant 55 degrees by 9 AM, and reaching 64 degrees by 11 AM. Winds remain light and steady, initially from the east at 3 to 5 miles per hour, shifting to a southeasterly direction.
Tomorrow, the Southeast will see some notable highs as warmer air moves through the region. In New Orleans, expect a high of 81 degrees, while Jackson reaches 83 degrees. Shreveport also brings a warm 83 to the table. Over in Memphis, temperatures will tap out at 82 degrees, slightly above average for this time of year. Moving eastward, Montgomery can anticipate a high of 82 degrees, and Atlanta is projected to hit 77 degrees. Jacksonville will enjoy a comfortable 79 degrees, while Savannah is looking at a pleasant 75 degrees. In the Sunshine State, Miami rounds out the day with a high of 80 degrees, and Tampa should reach an impressive 87 degrees.
“On the futurecast for the Southeast, expect an active weather pattern with a significant shift in conditions over the next 24-48 hours. A cold front, accompanied by embedded thunderstorms, is moving out of Texas into Louisiana and Mississippi. As it progresses eastward, strong to severe storms are anticipated. The Storm Prediction Center has parts of the region in a severe weather outlook. Be prepared for heavy rain and potential severe thunderstorm warnings as the front reaches Montgomery and New Orleans by Wednesday morning, with conditions extending to Savannah and Jacksonville throughout the day.
