A line of thunderstorms is stretching across northern Georgia and South Carolina, impacting cities like Atlanta and Charlotte with heavy rain. To the south, Savannah and the coastal regions are seeing lighter showers as the system moves inland from the Atlantic. Montgomery and Mobile are currently under overcast skies with no significant precipitation. Areas like Miami and Tampa are experiencing calm conditions under mostly clear skies. New Orleans and Eastern Texas, including Houston, should anticipate the clouds breaking for some sun, as the radar shows these areas are clear of any rain or severe weather.
For Atlanta this afternoon, temperatures will climb to 83 degrees with sunny skies throughout. Expect a west-northwest wind at around 18 miles per hour, providing a gentle breeze. By 8 PM, temperatures will dip slightly to 78 degrees while maintaining clear skies.
This afternoon, the Southeast region is turning up the heat! In Jacksonville, expect a steamy high of 93 degrees, while nearby Savannah will reach 91. Moving westward, temperatures will trend slightly cooler with Montgomery at 87 and New Orleans at 82. Over in Jackson, a comfortable 86 degrees is on tap for the day. Houston is warmer at 87, while Shreveport anticipates a high of 91.
Tonight Memphis dips to 57 degrees. Atlanta is expected to see 60 degrees, while Montgomery will be around 65. Farther south, New Orleans will have a mild night at 73 degrees, and Shreveport is looking at a low of 69. Jacksonville and Savannah will both settle at 67 degrees, providing a comfortable evening for those areas.
Expect warm temperatures across the Southeast tomorrow, with many areas hitting above-average highs. Atlanta will reach 84 degrees, while nearby Montgomery and Jackson are set to hit 90 degrees. Savannah and Jacksonville could see similar warmth at 91 and 92 degrees, respectively. Houston and Shreveport both target 92 degrees, reinforcing the trend of elevated temperatures. New Orleans will experience slightly cooler weather, topping out at 83 degrees, but still above normal for this time of year.
