On the regional radar, strong storms with heavy rainfall are currently sweeping through central Mississippi around Jackson, moving northeast. Shreveport is experiencing light rain as these systems advance. Showers are developing over parts of Alabama and drifting toward Montgomery. The skies over Savannah and Charleston remain mostly clear at the moment, providing a temporary respite from the wet weather.
This evening in Atlanta, the temperature will start at 70 degrees around 8 PM with scattered thunderstorms. By 10 PM, conditions will transition to cloudy skies with temperatures dropping to 67 degrees and west-southwest winds at 3 mph. As midnight approaches, expect mostly cloudy skies with temperatures settling at 66 degrees and calm wind conditions.
Tonight, in the Southeast expect 54 degrees in Nashville. Memphis will see a low of 61, while Jackson cools down to 66. Shreveport will remain relatively warm at 67 degrees. Atlanta is expected to reach 59, and Montgomery will drop to a pleasant 64. Coastal areas like Jacksonville and Tampa will have morning lows of 67.
Tomorrow in the Southeast, we’re looking at some warm highs as temperatures soar above average. Atlanta will see a high of 83 degrees, while Montgomery reaches 87. Jacksonville and Savannah both hit 89, contributing to a notably warm trend across the region. New Orleans and Jackson expect to see 85 degrees, with Houston also at 86. Miami rounds it off with a high of 83.
A cold front is set to move through Southeast tomorrow, sparking an uptick in storm activity. Expect thunderstorms ranging from New Orleans to Charlotte, with a higher potential for severe weather, primarily in the form of strong winds and heavy rain. The line of storms will push eastward through the day, impacting areas from Atlanta to Savannah by the afternoon. With up to an inch of rain in spots, local flooding may become a concern.
