The Southeast is currently experiencing mostly clear weather, but there are a few places where rain is on the move. The radar shows rain activity specifically around Jacksonville and Miami, with showers beginning to move inland. These showers are traveling from the Atlantic and could potentially bring some rain to areas like Tampa as they move westward. Regions like Shreveport, Jackson, and Montgomery enjoy a clear start to the day, with no significant weather activity detected. Memphis, Atlanta, and Charlotte are also free from precipitation, allowing for a sunny day.
In the afternoon hours, Atlanta experiences comfortably warm temperatures, peaking at 66 degrees. Expect clear skies with abundant sunshine filtering through. Enjoy a gentle breeze from the southeast at speeds up to 6 miles per hour, maintaining a pleasant and refreshing atmosphere.
In the Gulf Coast, both Shreveport and Houston are heating up with highs of 81 degrees, making for a warm afternoon. Moving eastward, Jackson enjoys a pleasant high of 75, while New Orleans matches that with a high of 75 as well. As we shift to the East Coast, Jacksonville is sitting comfortably at 75 degrees, and Tampa reaches up to 81, basking in plenty of sunshine. However, the contrast is noticeable in Atlanta, where the high is just 68 degrees, showcasing a cooler trend compared to the surrounding cities. Over in Florida, Miami enjoys a warm afternoon with temperatures reaching 79 degrees, while Savannah sits a bit cooler at 70.
Memphis will dip to a chilly 46 degrees, while Nashville is looking at a low of 50. In Jackson, expect a cooler 54 degrees, and Montgomery will stay around the same, also at 54. Heading down to New Orleans, temperatures will be milder at 63. Further south, we’re seeing 61 degrees in both Jacksonville and Savannah. Atlanta will be another cool spot, settling at 52.
Expect warm weather across the Southeast tomorrow, with many areas experiencing above-average high temperatures. In Louisiana, Shreveport will reach 84 degrees, while Jackson, Mississippi sees a high of 81. Houston, Texas is forecasted to be quite warm at 85 degrees, indicating a trend of higher temperatures in southeastern Texas. The New Orleans area will also enjoy a pleasant day with a high of 80 degrees. Moving east, Montgomery, Alabama will hit 80 degrees, and Atlanta, Georgia is expected to see a high of 74. Further south, Jacksonville, Florida will be warm at 79 degrees, while Tampa experiences a balmy 83 degrees. Miami will also reach a comfortable 80 degrees.
A shifting weather pattern arrives in the Southeast tomorrow as a cold front sweeps in with embedded thunderstorms from Texas and Oklahoma, extending into Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama. Expect strong thunderstorms, particularly in areas currently under the Storm Prediction Center Severe Weather Outlook. The front reaches Atlanta early in the morning, impacting the commute with stormy conditions expected. New Orleans and Montgomery brace for thunderstorms, while showers and storms reach Jacksonville to Savannah by Wednesday. Stay vigilant for weather warnings over the next 48 hours as the front may bring intense rainfall, potentially leading to flooding concerns.
