The Southeast is experiencing dynamic weather conditions with a line of severe storms stretching from Jacksonville to Montgomery, creating a swath of heavy rainfall and potential severe weather as it progresses northeast. Atlanta is currently under a significant rain shield, with showers moving steadily eastward. Jackson is enveloped in widespread rain, extending towards Mobile, while cities like New Orleans and Shreveport enjoy a reprieve from the wet weather. Charlotte and Savannah remain dry, but clouds are on the horizon as the system pushes eastward. Miami and Tampa are relatively clear, although an increase in clouds is anticipated as the day progresses.
This afternoon in Atlanta, temperatures will stay in the high 50s, reaching up to 61 degrees by early evening. Expect consistent easterly winds around 13 miles per hour throughout the day. Showers are likely, so it’s a good idea to keep an umbrella handy if you’re heading out. Cloud cover will keep the skies mostly gray, with rainfall providing some much-needed moisture.
Today’s high temperatures for Jacksonville, expect a warm high of 83 degrees, while the sunshine in Tampa pushes temperatures up to a steamy 86 degrees. Farther inland, Atlanta will see a cooler high of 69 degrees, reflecting a significant drop. New Orleans stays warm with a high of 77. Jackson, however, will only reach 65 degrees, making it one of the cooler spots in the region.
Tonight in the Southeast, expect a chilly night ahead with low temperatures dropping into the lower 60s. Shreveport will see a low of 61 degrees, while Jackson is forecasted to be slightly cooler at 60 degrees. In contrast, New Orleans will experience a milder night with a low of 64 degrees. Expect 63 degrees in Atlanta, with Savannah and Jacksonville maintaining warmer temperatures around 71 degrees. Miami ends up the warmest, with an expected low of 79 degrees.
High temperatures in the Southeast tomorrow are looking warm and above average. Atlanta will reach 67 degrees, while farther south, temperatures in New Orleans are expected to hit 78 degrees. Jacksonville is warming up to a delightful 81 degrees, and Tampa is set to reach a balmy 86 degrees. Miami will also enjoy a warm day with highs around 85 degrees.
