A band of showers is also stretching across coastal Mississippi, affecting areas like Gulfport and Biloxi. Inland, a patch of rain is active near Memphis, moving toward the Tennessee state line. The rest of the Southeast, including cities like Atlanta, Charlotte, and Jacksonville, is experiencing clearer conditions, with generally dry weather dominating the scene.
In Atlanta this afternoon, temperatures will reach the low 80s, peaking at 82 degrees around 4 PM and slightly cooling to 81 degrees by 6 PM. Expect mostly sunny skies with a gentle wind from the west-northwest at 15 miles per hour, decreasing to 14 miles per hour into the early evening. By 8 PM, the temperature will fall to 78 degrees, with winds continuing to ease at 11 miles per hour.
Today’s in Jackson and Montgomery, we’re seeing highs of 90 degrees, while Atlanta will warm to 83. Savannah and Jacksonville will both reach 91 degrees, making it a sweltering day in those cities. Over in New Orleans, temperatures are slightly cooler at 84 degrees. Meanwhile, Tampa is enjoying a high of 89, while Miami matches Jacksonville at 90 degrees.
Tonight in the Southeast, Nashville will be looking at a low of 56 degrees, while Memphis drops to 62. Atlanta will see a cooler night at 57 degrees, with Montgomery at 65. Savannah remains mild at 67 degrees, and Jacksonville will finish the evening at 70. New Orleans will stay mild overnight at 75 degrees.
Tomorrow, Atlanta can expect a high of 80 degrees, while Nashville will reach 76. In Alabama, Montgomery is projected at 89 degrees, and Jacksonville will be even warmer at 93. Tampa tops the chart in Florida with a sizzling 94 degrees. New Orleans will see a comfortable high of 86 degrees, indicating a warm day overall for the region.
