On the Regional Radar for the Southern Plains, we have an area of interest along the northern edge, with snow falling in parts of eastern Colorado, especially closer to the Kansas border. These snow showers are sporadic but could accumulate in some higher elevation areas. Meanwhile, cities like Albuquerque, El Paso, Midland, and San Antonio are experiencing clear conditions. To the southeast, Little Rock and Dallas are under mostly clear skies, though cloud cover is increasing as you move farther east. This could indicate some oncoming changes in the weather as conditions evolve throughout the day. Currently, Oklahoma City and farther southwest towards Corpus Christi remain mild. Keep an eye out to the far east and north near Kansas City, where light precipitation is observed, likely rain or mixed precipitation, further hinting at the interplay of weather systems. New Orleans and Jackson are also enjoying clearer skies for the time being.
In Austin, tomorrow morning starts with temperatures at 73 degrees at 7 a.m., with southerly winds at 11 miles per hour. On the futurecast for the Southern Plains tomorrow, expect a complex weather day. Dallas and areas extending to Corpus Christi will experience rain showers, which will help bring some moisture relief. However, Oklahoma City is on the watch for potentially stronger storms due to an unstable air mass interacting with an advancing cold front. This front is moving southeast and will likely generate thunderstorms from Oklahoma to northeastern Texas. Keep alert for any severe weather warnings that may be issued through Wednesday night. Across the eastern parts stretching into Arkansas and Louisiana, anticipate cloud cover with scattered rain and occasional storms as the system pushes eastward.
