A cold front is bringing a line of thunderstorms through Arkansas, moving quickly eastward past Little Rock towards western Mississippi. This active system also showers northern Louisiana with moderate rain as it edges toward Jackson. But don’t worry, Texas is basking in clear conditions for now, with skies bright and sunny from Dallas to San Antonio. The same can be said for much of Oklahoma, although some cloud cover is creeping into areas near Oklahoma City. Southwest Kansas encounters isolated rain showers, although it remains mild.
This evening in Austin, enjoy a sunny start with temperatures around 85 degrees at 9 PM. As the night progresses, expect clear skies with temperatures cooling to 79 degrees by 11 PM. By 1 AM, the mercury dips to a comfortable 75 degrees under mostly clear skies. Winds will be gentle from the north-northeast at 4 to 6 mph throughout the evening.
Tonight Dallas will drop to a low of 66 degrees. Little Rock will see a low of 62, while Oklahoma City cools down to 62 as well. In contrast, warm spots like San Antonio will remain mild at 73 degrees. Expect lows of 61 in Jackson and a comfortable 71 in New Orleans.
Tomorrow El Paso is set to reach a sizzling 96 degrees, while Midland could soar to 97 degrees. San Antonio will enjoy a high of 95 degrees, and Corpus Christi is expected to see a warm 87 degrees. Dallas might lag slightly behind with a high of 89 degrees.
A front is set to advance across the Southern Plains tomorrow, bringing showers and thunderstorms to areas from Dallas to Corpus Christi.
