Across the Southern Plains, the radar indicates mostly calm weather conditions with scattered activity. Rain showers are present in Kansas City, moving eastward. Farther to the south in Texas, San Antonio and Corpus Christi are experiencing clear skies, while El Paso enjoys dry conditions as well. There is slight precipitation noted around Jackson, where isolated showers are forming as they progress northeastward. Meanwhile, New Orleans and Little Rock are under calm skies, showing no immediate threat of rain. The region around Albuquerque is similarly dry, with no storm activity at this time.
For this evening in Austin, temperatures will start at 79 degrees around 8 PM with an east wind at 4 miles per hour. As we move further into the evening, temperatures will cool to 71 degrees by 10 PM with a northeast wind at 6 miles per hour. Scattered thunderstorms are expected during the late evening and will continue into the night, with temperatures reaching 70 degrees by midnight.
Now for the low temperatures, the Southern Plains will feel the chill tonight as a wave of cold air settles in. Oklahoma City is dropping to a brisk 42 degrees. Dallas will see a low of 54, while Midland cools down to 55 degrees. Expect San Antonio to be warmer at 64 degrees, though still notably cooler than recent nights.
