This week Austin experiences a variety of weather patterns, starting with pleasant sunny mornings and transitioning to more severe conditions as thunderstorms may roll in by Tuesday. Rain showers are making their way through New Mexico with Albuquerque experiencing steady precipitation. The system stretches southward, brushing against El Paso as it progresses. Central Texas, including Midland, is seeing light rain activity, while the corridor between Dallas and San Antonio remains mostly dry with just a few scattered showers. Light rainfall is approaching the outskirts of Corpus Christi. The areas from Oklahoma City to Little Rock and stretching toward Jackson are currently clear, enjoying calm skies.
Tomorrow morning in Austin, expect a mostly sunny start at 8 a.m. with temperatures around 74 degrees and a gentle breeze from the south at 3 miles per hour. By 10 a.m., the weather will become partly cloudy with temperatures rising to 79 degrees, and winds picking up slightly from the south at 4 miles per hour. As noon approaches, look for mostly sunny skies again, with a temperature of 85 degrees and a south-southeast wind at 6 miles per hour.
High temperatures for the Southern Plains tomorrow will be significantly above average. El Paso will see a high of 93 degrees, while Midland can expect 95 degrees, making it one of the hottest spots in the region. San Antonio will reach a warm 94 degrees, and Corpus Christi is looking at 91 degrees. Dallas is slightly cooler with a high of 89 degrees, but still above seasonal norms. In contrast, Kansas City will experience a noticeable drop with a high of only 75 degrees.
Anticipate an active weather day over the Southern Plains on Tuesday. An approaching cold front will spark a line of storms extending from Dallas through Oklahoma City. Areas from San Antonio to Little Rock should prepare for rain through tomorrow. Cooler air follows the front, bringing a relief in temperatures by midweek.
