This week promises a mixture of warm sunny days and potential storm threats, highlighting the dynamic and unpredictable nature of spring weather. Enjoy Austin’s beauty and keep a watchful eye on those skies! “A brisk morning across the Southern Plains reveals a mixture of conditions today. While much of Texas, including Dallas and San Antonio, is experiencing dry and clear skies, the radar shows precipitation lingering in the southeast near New Orleans and Corpus Christi, where rain showers are making their presence known. Moving northward, Oklahoma City enjoys a break from wet weather, though clouds may be noticeable. Farther north, near Kansas City, conditions remain calm with clear skies expected. Meanwhile, a developing line of storms is kicking up moisture along the Mississippi Delta, expect showers to areas just south of Little Rock and near Jackson. Stay tuned as these developments may bring more dynamic weather to the region later in the day.”
Austin temperatures this afternoon will be quite warm, reaching up to 80 degrees by 5 PM. Expect plenty of sunshine with clear skies overhead. Winds will be gentle from the west-northwest at around 5 miles per hour, shifting slightly to the northwest at 4 miles per hour by early evening. Enjoy the bright and pleasant conditions while they last!
Let’s look at the high temperatures for today across the Southern Plains. In El Paso, we’re reaching a comfortable 68 degrees while Midland is slightly warmer at 73. Dallas will see a high of 70 degrees, and San Antonio is heating up to 84, making it the warm spot in the region. Over in Corpus Christi, expect a pleasant 80 degrees, while Oklahoma City sits at a cooler 65. The contrasts are notable as we move from the northern parts to the south, showcasing that spring warmth is definitely making its presence felt today.
Now for the low temperatures in the Southern Plains. Expect chilly tempeatures across the region. Dallas will see a low of 58 degrees, while Fort Worth will cool down to 59. Oklahoma City is forecasted to dip to 54 degrees. Little Rock will experience a noticeable drop with a low of 54 degrees. Farther south, San Antonio will reach 57 degrees, and El Paso will settle at 57 as well. Corpus Christi stays milder at 64 degrees. A cold air mass is clearly settling in, ushering in these cooler temperatures across the Southern Plains.
High temperatures across the Southern Plains for tomorrow will be noticeably warm, with readings aligning above average for this time of year. In El Paso, expect a high of 83 degrees, while Midland will see temperatures rise to 84 degrees. San Antonio will experience a toasty 88 degrees, making it the warmest city in the region. In Corpus Christi, the afternoon high is set to reach 81 degrees. Dallas will be slightly cooler at 84 degrees, and Oklahoma City is forecasted for a high of 84 degrees. The weather is influenced by a strong high pressure system, which is helping to keep conditions dry and warm across the plains.

Meanwhile, areas from Oklahoma City to Little Rock face the risk of severe thunderstorms, particularly in the afternoon and evening hours. Hail and strong winds are possible, so stay alert for weather alerts. Rain showers extend from Dallas to San Antonio, providing beneficial moisture. By Wednesday, a cold front pushes through, bringing cooler temperatures and clearing skies for the latter half of the week.”
