A line of storms is visible on the radar moving across southern Texas, particularly around the San Antonio area, pushing east. Showers are scattered around Corpus Christi, offering localized precipitation. Farther north, the region remains mostly clear with no significant weather systems affecting cities like Oklahoma City and Dallas. Slight cloud cover is present near the Texas-Mexico border, without any substantial precipitation. El Paso and Albuquerque enjoy clear conditions under a calm sky.
Temperatures in Austin this afternoon remain steady at 93 degrees with a mostly sunny sky at 4 PM. Expect conditions to shift to partly cloudy by 6 PM, while temperatures hold at 93 degrees. Winds will be from the south-southeast at a gentle 7 to 8 miles per hour. By 8 PM, it will be mostly sunny again with temperatures slightly dropping to 91 degrees and a slight breeze increasing to 11 miles per hour.
Today El Paso is leading the pack with a sizzling high of 101 degrees, while Midland is close behind at 98. In Texas, both San Antonio and Dallas are also seeing highs of 98 and 91 degrees. Over in New Orleans, the high will be a warm 86 degrees, and Jackson is not far off at 90 degrees. T
Tonight Oklahoma City will experience a drop to 68 degrees, while Little Rock cools to 65. Dallas is expected to be a bit warmer at 75 degrees. Midland will see a low of 74, and further south, San Antonio will remain mild at 78.
High temperatures in El Paso, expect a high of 97 degrees, while Midland reaches a scorching 100. San Antonio will also hit the 100-degree mark, providing plenty of heat to residents. Dallas is forecasted to see a high of 93, while Corpus Christi is set to reach 91 degrees.
Looking ahead on the futurecast for the Southern Plains, expect a dynamic weather day. Starting with rain from Dallas to Corpus Christi, providing much-needed moisture. Oklahoma City could see stronger storms. With such an unstable air mass and an approaching cold front, be on the alert for severe weather warnings in the southeast through Wednesday night.
