The Midwest regional radar reveals a dynamic weather pattern this afternoon. Eastward of St. Louis through Indianapolis and reaching into Columbus, rain showers are making a persistent appearance. Notably, strong precipitation bands extend across the Ohio River Valley, with Bowling Green and farther east, near Charleston, witnessing heavier rain. Detroit, and Cleveland appear mostly clear for now. Also, Kansas City is enjoying a break from adverse weather. As the system progresses, keep an eye on the shifting patterns around Fort Wayne and Saginaw, which might experience increased cloud cover moving in from the east. St. Louis and areas farther west appear to remain calm under moderated weather conditions, potentially benefitting from a temporary break in precipitation.
For tomorrow morning in Chicago, expect a chilly start with temperatures hovering around 34 degrees at 7 AM. As the morning progresses, temperatures will slowly rise to 36 degrees by 9 AM with a mostly sunny sky and an east wind at 9 miles per hour. Tomorrow in the Midwest, we’re looking at a range of high temperatures that reflect a mild spring pattern, with some cities enjoying unseasonably warm readings. Indianapolis is expecting a high of 56 degrees, while the warmer air kicks in across southern parts of the region. Louisville will see a pleasant high of 62 degrees, and Bowling Green is set to warm up to 66 degrees. Kansas City is looking at a high of 65 degrees and St. Louis will be slightly warmer at 67 degrees. Springfield also joins the warmth with a high of 61 degrees. A cold front is moving across the Midwest, bringing a variety of weather conditions. Tomorrow, expect scattered showers and thunderstorms from Des Moines to Indianapolis. While severe weather isn’t expected, rainfall could be heavy at times, causing localized flooding. Farther north, in areas like Chicago and Detroit, anticipate more mild temperatures with periodic rain showers. The cooler air behind the front will gradually spread, leading to a drop in temperatures over the next 24 to 48 hours. Stay alert for any weather warnings, especially in southern regions such as St. Louis and Louisville, where heavier rain is likely. Winds are expected to pick up as the front passes, so be prepared for sudden gusts.
