A line of storms is currently advancing northeast from central Kentucky, stretching from Bowling Green towards Louisville, with some areas experiencing severe conditions. Northern states like Ohio are witnessing showers and thunderstorms, affecting areas such as Dayton and Cleveland. Across the Great Lakes region, including Chicago and Detroit, skies are mostly clear with moderate cloud cover. Farther west in the Midwest, areas including Des Moines and Kansas City, experience clear skies with no immediate precipitation. Springfield, situated southward, has a mix of rain and snow that may cause slick conditions on roads.
This evening in Chicago, temperatures will begin at 73 degrees at 9 PM with partly cloudy skies. Winds will be coming from the southwest at 14 miles per hour. By 11 PM, temperatures will drop to 67 degrees under cloudy conditions, with winds shifting slightly to the west-southwest at 14 miles per hour. By 1 AM, expect 63 degrees and continued cloud cover as winds decrease to 11 miles per hour.
Tonight, the Midwest will experience a notable drop in temperatures. Chicago will see a low of 52 degrees, while Des Moines drops to 43. Indianapolis can expect a chilly 50 degrees, and Peoria cools down to 48. St. Louis will be a bit warmer at 56 degrees.
