On the Regional Radar, we’re observing a fairly busy weather picture across the Midwest. Right now, Chicago is witnessing significant rain, while nearby, Peoria is similarly engulfed in showers. Looking eastward, the rain intensifies over Fort Wayne, building towards Cleveland. Columbus is also dealing with persistent rain, but it’s set to lessen as it moves farther east. Saginaw and Detroit are under light rain that’s expected to sweep through gradually. Down to the south in Indianapolis, cloud cover is blanketing the city, hinting at rain showers to follow. Over towards Springfield, scattered rain is sweeping across the landscapes, and St. Louis is under intermittent showers with a steadier rain pushing in from the west. Bowling Green is relatively clear at the moment.
Temperatures in Chicago will start at 60 degrees at 7 AM with partly cloudy skies. By 9 AM, expect the temperature to rise to 63 degrees, moving to mostly cloudy conditions with a southwest wind blowing at 12 miles per hour. At 11 AM, the temperature reaches 66 degrees, with cloud cover increasing and a south-southwest wind at 14 miles per hour.
High temperatures across the Midwest region are setting up a significantly warm day tomorrow. In Kansas City, we’re expecting a high of 79 degrees, which is well above average for this time of year. A cold front is heading through the Midwest, bringing cooler temperatures. Expect rain showers and potential thunderstorms over Chicago, Indianapolis, and Detroit. Friday morning may see these storms track toward Cleveland. Watch out for pockets of severe weather, especially near Detroit, with heavy rain and gusty winds possible. Wisconsistation and northern Michigan could see a touch of mixed precipitation.
