A significant weather system is moving across the Midwest, with severe storms pushing from Springfield towards St. Louis. Heavy rain and thunderstorms are tracking eastward, impacting Indianapolis and Fort Wayne with intense downpours. Columbus is under strong storm activity as cell formations move northeast. Saginaw and Detroit experience moderate rainfall, with Cleveland seeing isolated storms that may turn severe. Chicago remains clear, with Bowling Green experiencing light precipitation.
Tomorrow morning in Chicago, temperatures start at 46 degrees at 8 AM, rising slightly to 48 degrees by 10 AM. Expect mostly cloudy skies early, transitioning to cloudier conditions mid-morning with an east-northeast wind around 9 to 11 miles per hour. Rain is expected by noon as the wind shifts to come more from the east at 12 miles per hour.
High temperatures in the Midwest tomorrow will showcase a significant variation, with many areas experiencing above-average warmth. St. Louis is set to reach 78 degrees, while Indianapolis expects a high of 76 degrees. Further south, Bowling Green will be even warmer at 86 degrees, and Charleston, WV, will also see a high of 83 degrees. In contrast, Chicago and Des Moines are on the cooler side, both reaching only 51 degrees.
A cold front is pushing through the Midwest tonight, bringing a line of showers and potentially strong thunderstorms stretching from Kansas City to Indianapolis. Expect heavy rain leading to localized flooding, especially in low-lying areas. Cooler temperatures will follow the front, dropping by about 10 degrees across the region, particularly impacting areas like Fort Wayne and St. Louis.
