A line of rain showers is stretching from Kansas City up through Peoria, bringing much-needed moisture across the Midwest. St. Louis is experiencing light rain, with precipitation expected to continue moving eastward. Detroit and Cleveland are preparing for scattered showers as rain approaches from the west. The rest of the Midwest, including cities like Indianapolis and Louisville, remains clear at the moment, allowing for pleasant outdoor conditions.
This afternoon in Chicago, temperatures will reach a warm 86 degrees by 4 PM, cooling slightly to 82 degrees by 8 PM. Expect mostly cloudy skies transitioning to partly cloudy conditions later in the day. Winds will be coming from the west-southwest at 12 miles per hour, decreasing to 9 miles per hour by the evening.
This afternoon in the Midwest, high temperatures are reaching impressive levels. Indianapolis will see a high of 91 degrees, while nearby Louisville is even warmer at 94 degrees.
