Along the Pacific coastline, light showers arrive just offshore near San Francisco, suggesting a change in the weather pattern. The southwest including Phoenix and Las Vegas. are dry with calm conditions.
In Los Angeles this afternoon, anticipate sunny conditions with temperatures rising to 82 degrees by 4 PM and peaking at 83 degrees by 6 PM. Winds will be gentle from the south-southwest at 7 to 8 miles per hour, maintaining clear skies. At 8 PM, temperatures will slightly dip to 81 degrees, and the calm weather pattern will continue into the evening.
In the Southwest today, we’re seeing some impressive temperatures across the region. Las Vegas is sizzling at a high of 100 degrees, while Phoenix cranks it up even further, reaching a scorching 103 degrees. Flagstaff remains a bit cooler with a high of 79, offering a stark contrast to the desert heat. Over in Bakersfield, temperatures also soar to 94 degrees, similar to those in Fresno. San Diego enjoys a pleasant high of 82, making it a comfortable getaway from the warmer areas.
Tonight, the Southwest will experience notable temperature drops. Flagstaff will dip to a chilly 43 degrees, while Ely will see a cool low of 40. Las Vegas remains warmer at 72, but nearby Cedar City is expected to cool to 55 degrees. Los Angeles will settle at a mild 58 degrees, and San Francisco will cool off to 51.
High temperatures in the Southwest are set to soar above average tomorrow. Phoenix is forecasted to hit a scorching 106 degrees, while Las Vegas will reach 101 degrees. Bakersfield will warm up to 94 degrees, with Fresno not far behind at 93 degrees. Los Angeles will experience milder conditions at 81 degrees, but even that is above normal for this time of year. Coastal regions in Northern California should brace for several rounds of valley rain from Tuesday into Wednesday. In Southern California, particularly the San Bernardino Valley, anticipate showers with periods of heavy rain, creating tricky driving and slick conditions over mountain passes.
