On today’s regional radar for the Southwest, we’ve got a dynamic mix of weather patterns making their presence known. Over California, light showers are showing up just off the coast around Redding, hinting at some moisture moving inland. These showers are a welcome change along the northern and central parts of the state.
Over the higher elevations of Arizona, Flagstaff is experiencing snow showers, bringing a wintry feel to the region. These conditions extend past Flagstaff into the eastern regions, where snow continues to dust the landscape. Cedar City, and areas farther south are seeing cloudy skies with the potential for mixed precipitation.
In Nevada, Ely is looking dry at the moment, with clear skies providing a break from the precipitation. Down farther south, Las Vegas and nearby desert locations remain untouched by rain or snow, maintaining their dry spell.
Moving towards the coast, San Francisco to Los Angeles enjoys mild weather with only light cloud cover, keeping conditions pleasant for outdoor activities. San Diego follows suit with mainly clear skies, adding to the Southern California sunshine appeal.
For this evening in Los Angeles, expect partly cloudy skies with temperatures starting at 72 degrees around 8 PM. As the night progresses, temperatures will gradually decrease to 66 degrees by 10 PM, and further down to 63 degrees at midnight. Winds will shift from the southwest at 6 miles per hour to a more northwest direction, decreasing to 4 miles per hour.
Now for the low temperatures in the Southwest tonight, expect some notable drops as cold air settles in. Ely will see a chilly 30 degrees, while Cedar City will drop to 34. In contrast, Las Vegas will remain slightly warmer at 52. The temperature in Phoenix is expected to be 57, keeping things mild compared to some neighboring areas. Flagstaff will see quite a cold night ahead with a low of 27 degrees. The coastline in San Diego will be milder at 50 degrees, while Los Angeles expects a low of 52.
High temperatures for the Southwest region tomorrow look quite warm, with several cities experiencing above-average temps for early April.
In southern California, Los Angeles will see a pleasant high of 77 degrees, while San Diego isn’t far behind at 79 degrees. Heading inland, Bakersfield warms up to 82 degrees, and Fresno is forecasting an impressive high of 81 degrees.
Over in Nevada, Las Vegas is set to reach 79 degrees, while Ely enjoys a milder 63 degrees. In Utah, Cedar City will be cooler at 59 degrees.
Farther east, Phoenix is expected to hit 82 degrees, which is notable for this time of year. The warm air is being driven by a strong ridge of high pressure settling over the region, creating a sunny and dry pattern.
In the Southwest tomorrow, expect a clear and sunny day across much of the desert regions, with temperatures remaining warm and stable. Southern Arizona and New Mexico will experience dry conditions, ideal for outdoor activities. Stay tuned for any weather updates as conditions evolve.
